FAQ
Q: We have a radio station here at Dominguez Hills?
A: Yes you do! KDHR has been broadcasting online from the library building since 2004. While we're still building our fanbase, we are a hidden gem that should not be overlooked at anytime.
Q: What kind of music do you play?
A: Everything. Quite literally, we play any and all types of music. There is no limitation to what we have in store for you. While typing this response, I myself just heard Usher (hip-hop) followed by Children of Bodom (metal). Now Lady GaGa (pop) is coming up...do you see where I'm going with this?
Q: Why can't I hear you in my car?
A: KDHR is an Internet-only radio station. We do not have an AM/FM license, therefore we do not broadcast on those channels. Since we are non-profit and considered an educational service, it is simply cost efficient to stay on the Internet where it is cheaper and provides us with much more freedom to provide you with quality entertainment.
Q: I heard some content that could be considered foul or innapropriate, how are you allowed to play that?
A: The Internet is not censored by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), therefore we are allowed the freedom to play and do whatever we want to an extent. We can play music with foul content, broadcast live shows without any censoring and many other liberties granted by the First Amendment. We do, however, keep a professional and appropriate demeanor when broadcasting our shows.
Q: So what hours does KDHR broadcast?
A: We run on a 24/7 musical format with live shows spliced in during the week. In other words, you can expect to hear KDHR at anytime during the day, including weekends and holidays. Visit the schedule to see when the live shows broadcast and for special programs throughout the week.
Q: Can I get involved?
A: KDHR is always looking for volunteer DJ's and interns. Refer to the join us section to get all the necessary paperwork and to see what positions are available.
